Hello the trail has gone cold....In 1841 Elizabeth Carr. birth:abt: 1835. was In the Union
Workhouse (Westgate) with her Brother Fenwick birth abt :1834, and 2yr old Robert birth
abt:1839. Their Father James had died 29 yrs of age in 1839 from consumtion. His 28 yrs
old wife Sarah Carr nee Todd died in 1842 of Consumtion also. She gave her address as
Liverpool Street Newcastle upon tyne in the Parish Of St Andrews. Fenwick appears to have
gone on to live with his Grandfather by 1851 at Newburn. Elizabeth is still in the
workhouse at 16 in 1851 describes her self as a scholar. what became of her ? Also what
became of Robert? I can not find him after 1841.
Fenwick married Mary Ann Kirkbride and had several children he died due to a tragic
accident on a Wherry boat on which he ferried people across the River Tyne from Goose Quay
Gateshead to the Newcastle side. The boiler exploded and he died from his injuries.
Regards To All Alan Carr. Newcastle Upon Tyne England.
