Greetings,
I know of two Carr lines that involved African American and Native American blood in the
1700's. Both Carr lines had roots in English aristocracy. Both lines included the name
James for sons back in the 1600's and 1700's. But unfortunately I don't know
of written records that connect these lines to more recent times.
One is through some descendants of John Ferrell Carr's son William. These Carrs are
from the Virginia group, and by John Ferrell Carr's time also had land in N Carolina.
Another line is through Aquilla Carr, whose lineage goes back to Walter Carr/ Le Carre of
Baltimore/Gunpowder MD. I seem to recall he was living in Ohio with his second wife when
this line originated.
I lost my own information when my genealogy program crashed, but all this information has
been on the web, cited by better researchers than I
Best wishes, Betsi Carr McKay.
