I am trying to trace information on the Carr side of my family. Donald (I think his given
name was Dominic) Carr was my great grandfather. He was b. in July 1900 and married at
age 20 in Phila to Ann Mary Williams. They divorced in 1930. I would liike to know if
anyone has information on what happened to him afterwards but I would also like info on
his ancestors and relatives. His parents were James Carr and Margaret O'Malley.
(Lester Carr may have been another name that James used). His brothers and sisters were
living w/him in 1920 in Philadelphia, Frank Carr (b. Nov 1895), Marie V. Carr (b. June
1897) married Earl Hart in 1920, and Agnes Carr(b. 1905) m. a Bowditch and had 2 children
that I know of.
I searched the family backwards in the census and found them living in Wilkes Barre, PA in
1910, in 1880 John Carr is a Iron Moulder in Palo Alto, Schuykill, PA with mother and
father from Ireland. He was 30 yrs old before the 1880 census which was taken on June
1880. James Carr is the son of the above and the whole family looks like this...
John Carr 30
Elizabeth Carr 30
James Carr 8
Bridget Carr 4
Joseph Carr 4M
Mary Ohara 20
Backward...
1870 census for Port Carbon Borough, Schuykill, PA shows a John matching all criteria as a
moulder, parents both born in Ireland and 20 in August of 1870. this John's father is
Francis, which is also the name of John's Grandson.
Any information I can gather on anyone listed in this e-mail would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read it all!
Missy
