DONALD C. KING, 74, of Elmwood Avenue, a retired dancer and waiter, died
yesterday at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas A. and Mary E. (Carr), he was
a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. King had been a professional tap
dancer earlier in his life.
He later was a waiter for many area restaurants, the last of which was the
former Colonial Hotel, in Cranston. He retired in 1975 after 25 years as a
waiter.
He leaves two brothers, Norman E. King of Cranston and Vincent L. King of
Providence; two sisters, Edith M. Deuel of Cranston and Muriel E. Votolato
of Providence; and many neices and nephews. He was the brother of the late
Thomas, James, Roger, Joseph, Leonard and Irene King, Mildred Barone and
Lillian Shoemaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St.
Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann
Cemetery, Cranston.
