Dear List,
I'm Detroit-born Al Dawson (now in Iowa) trying to locate CARR cousins in
Alpena County. I have reason to believe John CARR (born 1848 in
Newfoundland)
was the brother of my great-grandmother. He came to Michigan in 1871.
John and Ettia (1900 census) in Alpena; John (single but widower - this
matches something in 1900 census!) in 1880 in Long Rapids; their children in
1910
and 1920 live in Long Rapids, Alpena and Wellington: Edna (who married a Mr.
Sylvester), Nelson H Carr married Adeline ____, daughter Louise; other
children of John & Ettia are Robert J. Carr, Charles E. Carr and Margaret
Carr, who
- if I am right - was living with her aunt (and namesake) Margaret (CARR)
Pounds in Detroit in 1910. Maggie Pounds was my great-grandmother.
