from the Providence Journal (RI), 3/1/98:
"RONALD J. CARR, 65, of 100 Randall Square, formerly of Cumberland, a
production manager at Avid Corp., East Providence, retiring in 1984, died
Friday at Charlesgate Nursing Home. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late
Francis J. and Aurore (Vary) Carr, he had lived in Cumberland most of his
life before moving to Providence in 1989. Mr. Carr was a communicant of
St. Patrick Church, Cumberland.
He leaves a daughter, Lisa A. Lancaster of Norccross, GA; a son,
Christopher L. Carr of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Patricia Messier of
Cumberland and Frances Fisk of Seekonk; a friend, Adele Carr Hopkins of
South Kingstown; and two grandsons.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. from the Bellows Funeral
Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a mass of Christan Burial at 10:30 in
St. Patrick Church, Broad St., Cumberland. Burial will be in Mount Cavalry
Cemetery, Cumberland."
