HELEN FRANCELIA (CARR) DANIELS, 93, of Ridgehill Road, a retired pony-farm
owner, died Friday at the Pleasant Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the wife of the late Richmond Daniels. Born in Butternuts, N.Y., on
Oct. 4, 1910, a daughter of the late William and Helen North (Converse)
Carr, she had lived in Daytona Beach, Fla., and New York state before
moving to Attleboro 10 years ago.
Mrs. Daniels and her late husband had operated the Daniels Pony Farm, in
Otego and Southside Oneonta, N.Y., during the 1950s and 1960s.
She had been active in the Rebekahs, Vale Hannah Lodge, in Otego, and had
been a 4-H volunteer leader.
Mrs. Daniels was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and its
Parmenter Circle.
She enjoyed traveling, letter-writing and painting watercolors.
She leaves three sons, Philip Daniels of Attleboro, Steven Daniels of
Albion, N.Y., and Larry Daniels of New Hartford, N.Y.; three daughters,
Elizabeth Daniels of Christianburg, Va., Joan Hoffman of Fort Lauderdale,
Fla. and Ruth Daniels of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Norma Collins of
Unadilla, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Mary Carpenter
and Horace Daniels.
A memorial service will be held at on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Centenary
United Methodist Church, North Main Street and Sanford Avenue. Burial will
be in Pennsylvania.
