Dear Pat,
I thought I had written to you before, but I think my message might have
gotten lost!! I have been trying to find someone that might know something
about my William Washington or Washington William Corr. Washington Corr or
W.W. Corr was born in the early 1800s.There is conflicting data as to his
place of birth. An 1860 census says he was born in Caroline Co. Va., but his
son, George William Corr's death record states that he was born in Ireland.
The reason I have given so many possiable names is that he was know as W.W.
Corr in many court records, but his will was signed Washington Corr.
He married an Ann F.( Franklin?) Bunnell of Spotsylvania Co. Va.
(daughter of Luther & Anky Bunnell, & in some way related to Sir John
Franklin, the explorer).I have no date for the marriage to Ann, but their
son, George William Corr was born on March 7th, 1828.(probably in Caroline,
Co. Va.).
Washington & Ann also lived in Goochland & Powhatan Countiin Va.& their
other children were:
Dorando Corr
Mira A. Corr
Franklin Corr
William Corr
Joseph Corr
Jane Tomisina Corr( Mrs. Robert Lee Pierce of Powhatan Co. Va.)
Mortimer Corr
The family lived at a place called "Maidens Adventure Farm" & Washington
had a very large mill in Powhatan, called "Fine Creek Mills". He died in that
county , will dated April 27th,1874.
I would love to find the parents of this gentleman and any other
information on him or his sons.
I tried to put a message on the CARR-d-request(a)aol.com, but I must not
have done something correctly.(also,CARR-L(a)rootsweb.com)
If you will be good enough to send me the proper address, I would like to
get this in quary form on some sight.
Thank you so much for your time, Louise B. Nemecek lbbnemecek(a)aol.com
