Very interesting site. Check out all the resources available from the museum,
under genealogy!
The above address might be 1547A Ellis ST.
I had a three year old inquiry re a James Carr born abt 1835 Ireland who
supposedly died in the earthquake. He doesn't appear in the list, but it
might not be comprehensive. Given that it is family lore, though, I tend to
doubt it.
But, as an offshoot of your posting, I found information about foreign
born Carrs who voted in California elections. And I just might have stumbled
on a record of this James, age 34 in 1871, born in Ireland.
Carr, James......78 in ----......born in Ireland......7581
Carr, James......52 in 1869......born in Ireland......7582
Carr, James......40 in 1866......born in Ireland......7583
Carr, James......36 in 1867......born in Ireland......7584
Carr, James......34 in 1871......born in Ireland......7585
Carr, James Allen......31 in 1867......born in Scotland......7586
Carr, James E.......50 in 1868......born in Ireland......7587
Sincerely yours,
Pat Noble
