I have posted to each individual family surname. No results. I will try
posting many of my surnames to all my surname-L lists. All in TN in late
1700
and early 1800s.
1. Samuel Houston MARTIN md 1839 Rebecca BRYANT, dau of James BRYANT and
Jane GENTRY.
Children md. ELROD, SHERRILL, JONES,, HICKEY, ROBERTS and MITCHELL.
2. William H CARR b. 1788 VA/NC, vet War of 1812, md. (1)Martha RICE, (2)
Hannah
HARPER.
Children of William and Martha md. Mansell, ALCORN, HARPER, CONWAY,STEPHENS,
DYER and HARRISON.
3. WIlliam Alexander MAHAN b. 1814 Rhea Co md (1) Eveline KIRKLIN/KIRKLAND.
(2) Nancy SIMS,(3) Eliza McMILLEN. William probably came from KY to TN. He
died in Todd Co KY
Children md. STEWART, MANSFIELD, SEVERS, RAGER and BROWN, MAXWELL, McCALEB,
PUTTY, THOMPSON, CARR and JUDD
4. Other surnames connected to these families are LaFEVER, LOLLAR,MYATT
ALLISON, VANCE, KIDWELL, FINLEY, THOMAS, BUSSELL, HOWELL, DUNN, WHITEHEAD,
STONE, YOUNGBLOOD,
YEAGER.
You will find these families intermixed in TN. Especially White Co, Jackson
Co, DeKalb, Putnam Co and generaly in East TN.
If you can connect any of these families together with each other or anyway,
please let me know.
They truly are all entwined. I am looking for any and all info on any
connection to these families.
Most came to TN form VA/NC/SC/KY. They are English, Scotch Irish, German and
French descent
The Germans were Palatines and the French were Huguenots.
