The William Carr/Kaar/Karr was married to a Martha Sliker in 1835ish. They lived in what
is now Long Valley (Flanders area) Morris County, NJ until his death. Martha then married
a John or William Lance and died I think a widow on the Bartley Farm property in that same
area. She had children with Wm and Mr. Lance. She is my ancester g..mother.
It is possible that all the Caar/Carr/etc Kaar/Karr's are all the same but don't
tell my father that he is actually Irish or Celtic or he will just flip. Me, I am Celtic
back to 1700 on my Mother's side, both Irish, Scot & Welsh.
The Joseph Karr's parents are unknown, in his last statement before the Orphan's
Court is that he was known as Joseph Karr of NJ. Possibly as far back as 1776-1790. He
married in May 15, 1815 and had several children 3 that died and 8 that lived.
Good Hunting.
Kathy Isleib (see Alfred Karr changed his name to Kaar when he married and moved to
ILLinois so the rest of the family changed their's. In Gravesend NY which is now
Brooklyn when he married Ms. Sliker his name is noted as Carr, Wm. by her parents.)
