I have no "proof" that there's any Carrs to be had in my tree....but, they
keep popping up...maybe only as a collateral line...I don't know. I do know, however,
that I have a Great Aunt Eva Cornell who only appeared on an 1880 Census, age 4, after she
and her two sisters were left with their Gpa in McDonald Co (SW) MO Those two sisters
were older, Clara, who married a Joseph LaRose, Hickory Co., MO and Louellen (Ellen/Ella?)
my Ggmtr, who married AH Pittser in Hickory Co., both married apx 1880. Their Dad, David
or Daniel Cornell (had been Cornwell in Clermont, OH) said he was "going back to
Texas" as his wife, born in Ark, per census, had died. They never saw him again,
that we know of. I found an Eva Cornell in an OK obit...who'd lived east of Okie
City, who'd married a Carr. Further research, turned up a tombstone for an Eva
Cornell Carr in Arkansas...I think around the NW pt....Benton Co, maybe...I have found a
David Cornell who works for a Bentonville, AR city mun!
icipal dept, but he doesn't seem interested in geno. Or maybe knows his lines
aren't related, I don't know. Family lore sez that the David or Daniel Cornell of
the girls, remarried to another Arkansas woman and had more kids. A cousin thinks it may
have been to a Adeline. There have been kin around the NW corner of Arkansas and SW pt of
MO, since, but no one knows this second family or the lst wife's name either. Or at
least nobody's saying. There's a family pic with a woman who looks very
ethnic/indian(?) there's that tale, also....it says on the back that it's our guy,
but I think my Gmtr got the picture from a family member who thinks it may have been and
wrote on it herself what they thought it was. There was a man/woman and a girl abt 8
maybe younger and a little boy, looking like his mother, abt 3. If that were one of the
girls... maybe Eva...it might work, but it's supposed to be my gmtr, Louellen, who was
the oldes and who's not missing....so it makes more se!
nse that it would be Eva and that she could've met a Carr there or dow
n in OK, where there's also kin, maybe. If anyone has any tales to tell....proof or
no....any clues at all on this family, PLEASE let me know? Whatever it is would be more
than what's known now. My dad/Gdad, both left this earth without knowing who or where
these women were. Soon it will be near impossible to find any evidence of them at all, I
fear. Thanks for any leads... here's my addy, as the one on here is incorrect for
notifying me of responses to my posts: (I've tried to change it....doesn't happen)
Thanks for reading.
