I have run into a brick wall in my search for my husband's great-great
grandparents Thomas and Mary A. Carr.
They are the parents of Joseph Henry Carr born 20 Nov 1834 in Middletown
(Dauphin County) Pennsylvania and Daniel T. Carr born 12 Sept 1837 at
Middletown, PA. I have not been able to find any of these people in the
Pennsylvania census records.
The military records of Daniel Carr who volunteered for Co. G, 11th Penn.
Vol. Cavalry from Willmore, PA on 24 Aug 1861 include a deposition from
Charles Snyder who testified that he had known Daniel Carr all his life
because Snyder's father had raised him from boyhood and he was one of the
Snyder family.
Joseph H. Carr moved to Comanche, Iowa with his wife Mary Margaret Archer and
was the father of 12 children. He moved to Clayton, WA and died there in
October 1904.
Daniel T. Carr moved to Vernon, Wisconsin and married Mary Norris Skinnon,
the widow of Thomas Skinnon who was killed in the Civil War.
I would appreciate any information available about these Carrs. Family
tradition says that they were originally from Ireland.
