Carr, age 58, of Fairfield, passed away on May 10, 2000, at Mercy Hospital
of Fairfield. He was born on May 31, 1941, in Leesville, Ohio, the son of
Lynn Mertz and Anna Marie (Sellers) Carr. He was married on May 21, 1970,
in Newark, Ohio, to Barbara Jean Lufsey Savage, who survives him. He
worked as a truck driver for Egner Trucking, Coastal Trucking, Carolina
Trucking, Trans Personnel Trucking, and Penske Trucking. He attended the
Fairfield Church of God, and was a member of Moose 36 and Eagles 407. He
was also an instructor at Tri State Trucking School.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean; a daughter, Evelyn and husband,
John Hufford of Liberty Township; three sons, Jospeh Jr. and wife, Sherry
Savage of Union Township; James and wife, Kimberly Savage of Fairfield
Township; and Robert Charles Savage of Allenpark, Michigan; one brother,
Lauren Carr of Newark, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and many loving nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Carr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at
Kowalk Funeral Home, Rose Hill Chapel, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, with
Rev. Robert Maggard officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial
Park. Friends may visit Friday evening, May 12, 2000, from 5:00 p.m.to
8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Fairfield
Church of God Building Fund.
