Hi Darlene, Gibson House has lots of excellent history on the Gibson family but little on
the area as a whole and nothing on Andrew. Perhaps because he died so soon after other
settlers moved in to the area.
I checked a Civil War site and there were 8 Union and 2 Confed Andrew Carrs. None were
taken prisoner or received decorations. I checked the 1880 US Census and there were 8
Andrew Carrs around the right age. I checked the 1881 Census for our area here and he was
not on it, but was in Vernon for the 1891Census. He married Agnes in 1901 and they had
no children - Agnes must have been 42 at the time.
I guess what I am looking for is just a few more facts - where he was born in the USA on
March 15, 1841, what side he fought on in the Civil War, and when he came to BC. Any
advice? Penny
