I would trust the family Bible over the tombstone. Many mistakes can be made on
tombstones. Whoever wrote in the family Bible should know more than the stone carver.
There were mistakes on a death certificate of one of my ancestors. I looked all over New
York for the man. He was born in Connecticut. Another said he was born in Ohio. He lived
in Ohio, but while his mother was living, the Census said he was born in PA. I would
think the parents would know. I was 22 when I found that I had been listing my
father's birth place wrong.
