Larry - If my earlier message came through, it was incomplete. I am getting adjusted to
my new Windows 8 machine!!
Lone Star (now just a store or two) is very near St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. My
grandmother (Martha Eliza Carr) was born there--as far as I know, they were Methodists.
I think you must have Haigler's book on St. Matthew's Lutheran and St.
Matthew's Episcopal Churches--both near the town of St. Matthews, county seat of
Calhoun County. The Lone Star area was in Orangeburg County, but became a part of Calhoun
County about the turn of the 20th century. The Haigler book it not much help to me.
I always check any Carr posts from Orangeburg (where I was born) or Calhoun Counties,
because there are so few of them. My grandmother had 9 siblings, according to the 1910
census, but I only knew Jode, Geane--and I remember seeing Kellar and Milton, when I was
very young. William died in the 1910s decade.
Thanks for answering, and good luck. George
