Hello folks. Just a word of advice concerning the distinction (or lack
whereof) between Carr and Karr or Kerr. The spelling of surnames was very
inconsistent even into the 19th century, and assuming that one spelling
means one nationality and another spelling means a different nationality is
a mistake that can cripple your research. At the website of the Scottish
National Archives, there are 782 occurrences of "Carr" between the years
1500 and 1899. In fact, however, some of those are records of English
nobles and aristocrats.
