Francis is first seen in Jersey Township, Licking County, OH in the 1840
census. The ages and places of birth of his children in 1850 indicate that
the family lived in Pennsylvania in 1828-29, in New York in 1831-39, and in
Ohio beginning 1841. Also, however, the 1830 census, puts him in Rensselaer
County, New York that year. So, I'm wondering if he was a brother or other
relative of Caleb Carr, who lived in Rensselaer County in 1820, when he
would have been 33. Caleb's household consisted of 2 males 26-44, 1 male
16-25, 1 male 0-9, 1 female 26-44, 2 females 16-25, and 2 females 0-9.
In Ohio, Francis was an active parishioner of St. Joseph's in Newark.

P.S. I meant Francis would have been 33 in 1820.
