I have managed to get back to the early 18th. century using the census and family records
but then came to a stop.
I recently renewed my subscription to Ancestry.co uk and found a lot of family trees which
matched my own but went much further back.
Part of my direct line matched the Carr family so I piggy backed other people's
research, cheeky I know, but surely that's why they allow it to be seen.
I was amazed at how far back I could go and I must admit I got a bit carried away, as did
others apparently.
I decided before I created a PDF of my tree for my three sons to do some checking and
found some serious anomalies.
James Carr, born 1573 had a mother Elizabeth Heron who died in 1554, 19 years before he
was born.
Her father William was 4 when she was born and her mother Margaret Foster was born in the
same year.
James Carr's grandfather, John Carr was born in 1500 on the same day as his great
grandfather John Carew, I suspect these are one and the same.
It all gets very confusing around this time and negates all the information contained
earlier in the trees, and a lot of hours matching trees.
Has anyone managed to sort these anomalies out as they seem to have been spread through
many peoples trees.
