I have nothing more on Dollie Carr other than seeing her listed in 1870 census with James
and Mary Carr. Lucy W Carr and Luther Hyatt are living with James Carr and listed as
adopted in 1880 census but Dollie is not listed in their household. Dollie could have
died but more than likely married. Lucy's parents are listed as born Indiana. That
would fit with George Carr and his first wife, Elizabeth Hays, born Indiana. Lucy Carr
married Theodore Weaver in Cherokee Co, Iowa and later moved to Stella (Muddy), Richardson
County, Nebraska (1910 census). Lucy W Weaver of Verdon, Nebraska is listed on George
Carr's will as one of his 12( ?) children. George only had his wife and children
listed on his probate (no siblings or nieces and nephews). More than likely, James Carr
stayed with Lucy in Nebraska during his declining elderly years and passed away there.
Where did you come up with Dorothy for Dollie? Is Dollie a common nickname for Dorothy? I
wasn't sure if her names was Dollie or Lollie.
Ancestry.com listed her as Lollie in
transcription but it does look more like Dollie.
Elizabeth Hays Carr is buried in Castek Cemetery in Johnson County, Iowa. She died Feb
1864.

Lucy Carr was born Feb 1863/1864 depending on source. 1900 census lists Feb 1863 for her
birthdate but her marriage record states 1864 for birth year and age 18. Elizabeth Hays
Carr may have died during child birth or complications if Lucy was born in 1864. If Lucy
was born in 1863, she would have been a year old when Elizabeth Hays Carr passed away. As
far as I know, the oldest siblings, William b. 1853 and Julia b. 1855, probably would have
been too young to look after Lucy. Thankfully, James and Mary took Lucy in and cared for
her. George remarried 2nd time to Louis Haskins in 1865.
I will contact you again later with my sources.
