LEGACY, MARY M. (CARR) 82, of Harper Ave. Cranston, Rhode Island, passed
away on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was
the devoted wife of the late Edward W. Legacy. Born in Cranston, she was
the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary I. (Fleming) Carr. Mary was
the Director of Cranston Head Start and Day Care and with the program
for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy
in 1946 and was an active member of her alumni committee; graduate of
Roger Williams University; and a member of the National Head Start
Directors Association until her retirement. She was the beloved mother
of Julie-ann Greenhalgh and her husband Buzz of Cranston, Robert E.
Legacy and his wife Constance of Cranston, Mary Frances Phillips and her
husband Benjamin of Scituate and Ellen L. Hodge and her husband Chip of
North Attleboro, MA; loving grandmother of eight; and dear sister of the
late Madeline I. Bagley Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45
a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 1278 Park Ave.
Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church
1291 Elmwood Ave. Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann
Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8 p.m. Memorial
