Hi there, I just read your post from last summer, but thought I'd respond to you.
Thomas Joseph Carr is someone I'm interested in as well; in fact, I just ordered a
book about him. I'm not sure if he was a relative, but he's an interesting person
in his own right. He was the Archbishop of Melbourne, so St. Patrick's Cathedral was
his Cathedral; he even supervised the completion of it. Archbishop Thomas Joseph Carr was
born in Moylough, Co. Galway, Ireland in 1839; his father was a man named Michael Carr,
and he had, I believe, a flax weaving business. Thomas Jospeh Carr became bishop of
Galway in 1882, then was appointed Archbishop of Melbourne, Australia in 1886. My
husband, our children, and I, lived in Melbourne for a few years, from 1977 to 1980 and
our last child was born in Melbourne in 1980. If you'd like to chat more about
Archbishop Carr, you can reach me at my regular email address, lunamother(a)gmail.com. You
might be related Archbishop Carr. I was looking a!
t his information, and recently ordered a book about him because of a potential
connection to one of my own relatives; I'm not at all sure this will turn out to be
the case, but he's interesting anyway.
