The Carr Family DNA Genealogy Project includes participants from the Carr paternal line that is often thought to relate to the John Carr mentioned in this message stream. A DNA test of a male descendant of John Carr's paternal line would show if they are indeed related. The purpose of the project is to make connections between Carr paternal lines using DNA, which is a reliable indicator of shared recent ancestry. Consider having a DNA test done to identify which Carr families around the world are connected to your paternal line ancestry within the last thousand years. The test also identifies ancient ancestral affiliation long before the use of surnames. You can read about our project and DNA testing for genealogy, as well as how to obtain a DNA test kit at http://www.carr-genealogy.com/index.html and http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~carrfamilydna/

Looking for information regarding Ruth Carr. She was born around 1890 probably, and had a son Ralph Miller in 1910. She also had Murle and Florence. Later on she married George Burchard and had a son Jerry Jay. She died when he was around 4 or 5, which would have been around 1930. I need to know who her parents were, in order to trace my family roots on her side. We are pretty sure her maiden name was Carr. She was married to a Miller, don't know his first name either, before she married my grandfather George Burchard. Appreciate any help out there.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mrs. James CARR of Lowell, Michigan
which was taken at the M. O. Smith Studio in Lowell, Michigan. The name
Bessie CARR of Lowell, Michigan also is listed on the back of the
photograph. I'm not sure if this means that Mrs. James CARR is also Bessie
CARR or if the photograph was a gift from one to the other.
The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with the woman in
the photograph likely in her 60's at the time it was taken. I am hoping to
locate someone from this CARR Family so that the photograph can be returned
to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who
might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
