I have been looking for quite a few DECADES for the parents of John Carr. I have found some info that says the name is CROW(E). Otherwise there is nothing that I can find.
He was born in Virginia 1763 and died in Tennessee in 1820. Married Frances "fanny" Sells. Her family came from Pennsylvania. Her line I have already. Can anyone help on this person?

Kathy,
Good luck in finding the father of John Carr. There have been many
searching this line for some time. I have not heard of a CROW[E] connection.
That is a direction I will begin exploring. Thanks.
Which of John's children do you descend from?
I descend from Thomas Carr b. 1783 in Virginia. While I have no direct
proof that Thomas and John are related John's grand-daughter Minerva
Pritchett was in Thomas Carr's home at the time of the 1850 Overton Co., TN
census. I am assuming they were related, possibly brothers.
A few years ago, I took a DNA test and have had several close matches.
One of those matches being to a descendant of William Carr b. 1755 and
Martha Harris. Unfortunately, I have yet to find anyone that has discovered
the parents of this Carr.
In all, I have had close matches with 6 researches but all of them have a
brick wall with their oldest known ancestor born between 1755 and 1850. And
just to add a little more difficulty to the search, several of these
ancestors spelled their name as Kerr.
Just need more Carr males to submit to this DNA testing.
Hoping we can all crack this family. Good luck.

Hi, I descend from John Carr and Fanny Sells through their daughter Margaret (Peggy) Carr who married Joseph Gore. They had a daughter Frances (Fanny) Anna Gore who had a child out of wedlock, Christopher Columbus Gore. He married Nancy Elizabeth Ledbetter and had a daughter Dora Lee Gore who married Jospeh Bedford Gore (they were cousins), and had a daughter, Elsie Lee Gore who married Thomas Heber Hickey and they had a daughter, Kathy Jo Hickey, which is me.
