I have written on the Carr family before. Jemima Carr, descendant of John Carr 1765. William Bonner, who married her is the second William, or William,Jr. Bonner, His father is also named William,Sr., who was living in Philadelphia, thought to be married to a woman, named Elizabeth. This William,Sr. is a son of Matthias Bonner, the immigrant, from Germany, a place called the Palatinate, close to the Rhine River. Matthias, sailed down the Rhine River to the Med. Sea, once on the Atlantic, they sailed for Wales, but did not put ashore, anchored off coast and sent smaller ships aground, where more passengers were brought on board and some passengers decided to remain in Wales, as it was called at this time, some settled in what is now Ireland, and some in what is now England. Remember, this is about the time, of William the Conqueror, or more precisely, shortly thereafter.

I share your link with Samuel Carr / Esther Johnson and Samuel Carr / Nancy Earls. My GG Grandfather was your Sarah's brother, Luther. Luther moved his family to Oklahoma. His daughter, Nellie Carr was my G Grandmother. Nellie's daughter, Jewel was my Grandmother. I would love to share information with you regarding the Carr's. I have quite a bit of information and have access to even more through my aunt. She, too, has performed extensive research on the native american link of our Carr line. Can you provide me with any additional information and I would love to secure digital photos of any of the Carr family... especially, Luther and / or the Samuels. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
John Jarrett

Hi, This is my first posting to this group. I am researching my
paternal grandparents' families and have hit a wall. My great great
grandfather's name was William R. Robinson born in Nova Scotia in 1830.
He married Elmira S. Carr in Massachusetts (date unknown). Elmira was
born in 1836 and her mother was Esther S. I do know that Esther was
born in Massachusetts in 1805 and that both parents were born in
Massachusetts but I do not know her maiden name or her husband's given
name. Any information that would allow me to continue my search on
this line would be very much appreciated.
Thank you. Joyce Keay

I also have an oil painting that I aquired in Washington state. It is a ship in full sail and there is no lighthouse. At one time I read somewhere of an Amos Carr that did magazine illustrations with ships. Any more information would be appreciated. There was once a Caleb Carr that was historically connected to Tacoma - a relative perhaps? Jean
