Someone posted a reply on the Carr site which began, "Hi Cousin" and it was something about being a brother to my grandfather, I think. There was a power surge here and I lost the message on my email list somehow. Whom ever it is, will you re-post? I certainly want to respond. Billie Bocetti

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I suspect this Richard Randolph Carr would have been born in about 1920. I understand that he passed in the 1980's or 1990's and this was possibly in W.VA after all. Nevertheless he lived in the Atlanta GA area in the late 1960's and/or 1970's.
If anything comes up with regards to this RR Carr, I trust you will post something here.
Thanks!
Antti Hynonen

I did some digging in the 1840 census but had no luck finding the Carrs in question. They should be living in Alabama with a male 30-40, a female 15-20, and a female under 5. (Daughter Sarah was born in Alabama in about 1839 and son William B was born in Alabama about 1842, so Alabama is their likely homestead in the 1840 census.
I think I found Mary's parents' household in DeKalb County. The Carrs don't seem to be living in that household and aren't listed as neighbors. Alabama has several William Carrs, a W J Carr and a J Carr, but none match up to the ages needed. They could be living in another Carr household or the surname might be spelled differently (Kerr) or wrong (Care, Carn, etc).
It might take going through the Carr households in Alabama one at a time looking for age matches. I got up to David Carr, searching Carrs in alpha order by first name, and didn't find a match so far.

Your Richard Randolph Carr is not my Richard Randolph Carr. Mine was my grandfather and he was born in the 1800s. Maybe there is a connection but I don't know of it. The name is right and the location is right but nothing else matches. Billie Carr Bocetti
