I am searching for my gggrandfather who was married to a Harriet Charlotte Rose, who was born in Bennington,V.T.They had two daughters, first one was Rachel Ann Carr, born 1825 in Odgensburg,N.Y., the second dau. was Eliza, born 1828, baptised in Goulburn,N.Y. They may have married in N.Y. or in Vt. or Conn. Harriet was born 1804 so assume James may have been born around 1800's. Any information would be greatly appreciated, James may have been in the army, which one I do no know. Harriet came to Canada in 1833 as a widow with her 2 dau.'s. Assume James died before then, any help or direction would be appreciated, please email me direct at: eileen.milley(a)sympatico.ca-Thanks

Good Morning,
I continue to look for the birth place, birth date and parents of William Carr, reportedly born in Northfield NH about 1790.
After marriage to Mary Sanborn of Epping/Sanbornton NH, who was b 9 Sep 1790, the couple moved to Lawrence MA. Mary appears in the town directories and census records beginning just after 1850. By that time she had a son, Frank, b about 9 Apr 1832. A history of the town of Sanbornton indicates that William and Mary may have had as many as three children. The history also reports that William died in Lawrence.
Extensive research has not uncovered any records that support the reported facts of William's life. I also have been unable to find a record of William's participation in the War of 1812, the Mexican War, nor in the Argonaut companies of those who banded together to travel to the California goldfields after 1849.
Any hints, tips or suggestions that you have will be most appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your assistance.

Dear M/s Ball,
My g grandfather on my grandmother Nannie B(Scott) York was Samuel Robert Scott from near Bedford, TN he married Suzanna Drake and had 6 children, Gussie Scott, Nannie Scott, Lucy Scott, Paul Scott and Samuel CARR Scott. The family oral history has it that during the civil Samuel Robert Scott was either a surgeon or an assitant surgeon in the Army of Tennessee, Confederate States. After the war he came back to TN and practiced medicene a few years and then left and went to Galacia, Ill and lived with Dr. J.A.D.Carr. His wife Suzanna died in Galacia. He left there with his children and moved to Henryetta, Texas near the Red River and Whicita Falls, TX He died there and is buried in the Henryetta Cemetery.
I have a picture of my g grandfather and a picture of Dr. J.A.D. Carr. I would vry much like to have the pic of Mrs.Frank Carr who I believe you said was Dr. Carr's son?
I do not know the connection between Dr. Carr and Samuel Robert Scott but if you know please pass it on. The only connection I can think of is that they knew each other in the Civil War. If you have any other pics of the Scott family, I would really like to have them.
I have been at this dead end for a number of years!!
Regards,
Shane York yorsy@cox,net

Thank you for replying. I was adopted at birth, so I never got to know my parents. I have recently been reunited with some of my brothers and sisters. They don't know anything our dad's side of the family. I obtained my dad's death certificate which listed both parents. He was born 1926 in Chicago, so I would guess she was born in the early 1900's. No one in my family remembers meeting any grandparents on my dad's side. My brother vaguely remembers a woman that was instrumental in getting him medical treatment and her name was Connie Carr. She could have possibly been an aunt.
Thanks,
Chris
