Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
this was found using the GenBank search engine, from the historical
newspaper collections ... no relation to me. The historical items are
scanned images, and the index seems to have been generated using OCR,
which, with the old font, gives many errors. Still worthwhile to check it
out. I had to transcribe from the image.
dated Sept. 25, 1825, from the "Essex Register" (Massachusetts), the image
is copywrited, so this is an excerpt:
DIED
"At Grahamville, S.C., Rev. John Carr, aged 72, a patriot and soldier of
the revolution. He was adjutant to Gen. McIntosh, in an expedition among
the Indians; he also served as adjutant to Gen. Wayne, and underwent many
perils and hardships during the revolutionary contest."
anyone know more about his line???

What time frame were the marriages? My Grandfater, William Carr was born in 1869 and was the ninth of ten children.

It is not free for a couple of days if you have to give them a credit card. It gives them access to all your info which will be used against you if for nothing other than to fill your mail box with advertising.
If you can get in look for John Mahan and then try to find the data for the Civil War Navy, See who was in the Navy named John Mahan. Or if there was another Mahan in the Navy named David. thanks Peggy

1888 m. Cuba Montgomery, Lois Jane b. 1890 Ar., William b. 1893, & Samuel
b. 1897. Brothers are believed to be: John R. Carr b. 1866 Ky. m. Gracie
Garner & Myrtle Galloway, Allen b. 1870 , & G A Carr b. 1876.
Part of the time the family is in Alicia, Ar. and I believe that is in
Lawrence Co. Cemetery is right across county line in Jackson. Some
marriage records found in Jackson Co. and George W Carr does remarry and old
wife- Martha is found working and one son - Samuel living with her. In 1910
census probably would be his second wife. Minnie & husband Cuba Montgomery
in the 50's lived in Newport, Ar. Some of their children died young but
can't find trails of the rest of the family?

Anyone researching the Carrs of Jackson/Lawrence County, Ar. I cannot find
where they came from in Ky. or the names of the parents. Anyone know a Theola
Peterson? She is related to this family. She probably could answer some
questions I never thought to ask.
I visited Dallas in about 1959 to see my cousin Fayrene
