Information for my CARR family is from photos, letters, newspaper articles, others who were related, and
a book, THE LATE BISHOP OF OSSORY. This book not only gives info for
The Rev. George Whitmore CARR ( born 1779 in New Ross, eldest son of Rev. Edward CARR. Edward's father was Dr. Thomas CARR ). Others written about
are DR. James Thomas O'Brien ( born 1792), Rev. Bartholomew LLOYD, D.D.(born
1706) was provost of Trinity College.
Rev. Humphrey Lloyd ( born 1676 ) settled in New Ross in 1700.
James Warren DOYLE ( born 1786 in Irishtown, a suburb of New Ross) died in 1834
in Carlow.
Robert Samuel GRAVES was born in New Ross in 1818 and died in his 55th year.
There is also info about the town of New Ross, some of the members of Parliament
from 1613 to 1874.. Book published in 1875 in Dublin and London.
There are several pages written for each of these men.
I have a little info on CARR relatives back to George CARR, born about 1620.
Hope we can find some connections in our families.

Looking for Ann Carr who married a Durkin and then a Gilligan. Ann born 1823. Have seen two places of birth...one was Kentucky and the othe was Ireland. I seem to think it was Ireland. She married Thomas Gilligan in Dane Wisconsin after her first husband, Durkin, died.
I am looking for parent/birth information on Bridget CARR, born 1839-1840 in
Ireland. She left Ireland at some point and ended up in Baltimore, Maryland
by 1867. She married Patrick GILL (don't know when/where) and they had 6
children, all born in Baltimore. I am descended from their daughter Katie Gill,
born 1873, and married Granville Brown. (She was my grandmother.). Any help or
suggestions is appreciated!
Thanks,
Patti
I am traveling to Belfast Ireland at the end of the month. I plan on
doing a bit of Carr family genealogy research while I'm there. If
anyone has any Carr contacts there or knows how to link into Carr
Family Genealogy, please respond to me off-line. I can also try to
look up information on ancestors, time permitting, if anyone wants to
provide clear information on a Ancestor from Ireland, send it to me
directly and I'll see what I can do.

Tom Carr,
In regard to your response that your grandfather was born in Northern Ireland, my grandfather Bernard (Barney) Carr was born in Creeslough,County Donegal, Ireland which is near the border of Northern Ireland. He was born in 1861.
One of the census reports that I have show the last name as Kerr. All of the rest show the last name as Carr.

Looking for family of Mary A. Carr - daughter of Joanna Gleason and John Carr of Midleton. Other family names include Gleasons and Seymours. Mary was born around 1850 timeframe. Moved to USA in early 1870s.
A part of the family, Gleasons, was already in NYC - James and Bridgett Gleason.
Mary's first child had a middle name of Seymour so I thought it had to be a family name.
Any info, greatly appreciated!
