I am seeking information on Archibald Carr born about 1810 in South Carolina,
and any of this children. Hope someone is out there researching this family
too.
This is what I have:
On the 1840 Census for Itawamba Co. MS page 148
his household is given as one male under 5, 8 males ages 5-10, 1 male age
20-30
1 female under 5, 1 female age 20-30.
In 1843 he purchased land in Itawamba Co. MS
Have not been able to locate family on 1850 census.
On the 1860 Census his household is listed in Franklin Co. AL
Archibald Car, 50 farmer, SC
Ann Car, 22, AL
Willis A. Car, 13, MS
Joseph B. Car, 10, MS
Sarah F. Car, 3, MS
Alfha A. Car, 2, MS
I believe that the Ann Carr given is a second wife for him. I do not believe
that Willis or Joseph are her children. Joseph is my line. I am trying to find
who his mother was, and any information on the other children of Archibald.
Any help appreciated

Hi Brenda! I grew up just across the river in St. Louis. My mom's mother was from Jackson Co. and my dad was born and raised in the Red Bud area.
Which Carr are you related to? I come down through Joseph>Conrad>David>Peter>Alice (my grand, other).
I was looking for my Smith relations in the census when I found Thomas Carr, Jr. My grandmother always said her Carr line was English, but all of the evidence I have found shows we indeed come from the Karr/Carr German line. Maybe this Thomas Carr will explain where that idea came from. I'm guessing his oral history somehow got tied into ours - only way I can see as to how the idea of English got tied into our oral history. So that is why I was curious to know where he came from.

Hello Susan,
I don't see Thomas, Jr. in my files. But, since I grew up in the area of Illinois you are refering to, I'd be very interested in the answers you get. One never knows where we'll find the right rock to uncover our mysterious relatives.

Reuben Carr is my gr gr grandfathers name. He didn't live in Indiana but his father and brothers did. Father Martin Luther died 1844 in Prairie township, KOSCIUSCO IN. I know there were other Reubens in the family, and many descendants, especially from John Davis Carr in FULTON CO, which is right next to KOSC. My Reuban came to IL ca 1850, from FAYETTE CO OH. Thats where the Carrs lived from 1803 on. Also MARSHALL CO IN and other counties.

Pam there does not seem to be a connection with my lineage although Frogtown is close by to where my ancestors lived. Are you familiar with the area there. If you are talking about the Frogtown I am which is in Clarion County between New Bethlehem and Clarion. I am doing some genealogy research and have been on the Carr/Kerr lineage. Your last name is interesting also because my grandfather married a Rachel Elva Keesey maybe a spelling variation of your last name. Originally I am from the New Bethlehem area, but now I live in Germany. If interested my email address is mpcarr2511(a)aol.com.
