Hello,
I do know that Daisy Carr lived in Iron Mountain, Michigan. I am not sure about Verdie. I do know there is a Larry Carr who is close or is 80 years young and also lives there. I spoke with him a few years back. But this may be of some help to you. You may email me back also. Kelly

Hello CARR Researchers:
I recently found a whole group of old pictures that my grandmother had kept in a box. Most of them had nothing on the back, so I could not identify them. However, one wonderful picture was identified. The picture was of two young men, obviously a set of twins, standing on either side of a horse. Both were wearing chaps. The picture was probably taken sometime before or around 1910. Fortunately, on the back of the picture the names "Cledus Carr and Claudus Carr" were plainly written.
I have done some research on these two trying to find out who they were and am posting the information I found below. I would love to return the picture to some member of the family.
Please let me know if you know of these two or are related in some way. I am not sure there were any descendants since they were both still living at home with their parents at age 37 as indicated in the 1930 census.
Sincerely,
Carla Love Maitland

Hello. I have an Eli Carr in my family tree and was hoping to find any descendants from this line. He was born in Alabma abt 1850.
You can find him on the 1870 census in Pontotoc Co., MS living in the Abraham Parker household.
His wife is Matilda Parker, daughter to Abraham Parker.
The 1880 census for Union Co., MS. has Matilda Parker Carr
and two kids living with her dad, Abraham Parker. No Eli Carr is listed.
Matilda Parker Carr died in 1883 and you can find her in the cemetery listings for Union Co., MS. Rootsweb. She's buried in the Wilkins Cemetery and on her marker it reads,
wife of E. P. Carr. There are also a few kids for E. P. Carr and Matilda in the same cemetery.
I've noticed the Eli Carr that settled in Haskell Co., TX and it looks as if he's the same individual. He was married in Union County, MS shortly after the death of Matilda Parker Carr to the Gholson.
Would love to hear from you.
Thanks
Chas Parker

As with all my fellow, "Which John Carr was mine?" I seek my family line, starting with John Clark Carr, born in Ohio, in 1838, with a father born in VA, mother born in Pa. There may be some Carrs in MO, cuz for some reason, J.C. Carr left S.D. with wife Nettie and 3 kids, and moved there for a few years, at which time my Grandmother Maude was born in Ozark Co., MO. I am trying to find my family line of Carr and figure out why my Grandmother ended up being born in MO instead of Custer, S.D. like her sibs??

I don't understand who the plantagent families are. I thought they were a
family of rather undesirable english kings. The Carr surname is in one
instance an angilization of Ker. Which supposedly is derived from the norse
Kjar meaning a low swampy place. However there are instances of Kerr being
an angilized german name. Also three or four gaelic Irish families angilized
their names to Carr during the penal laws. I have a small rundown on the
names and varients at www.carr-genealogy.com/dna.html

Do you by any chance have any information on Columbus Parker Carr? He was born in 1875 and died in 1940. Buried in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Blairsville, Ga. I think. He was married twice that I am aware of. He is my son's Great Grandfather through Columbus's second wife, Ida Pierce. The family has been trying to find out the name of Columbus's Father, we know that his mother's name was Milla Kate. Milla Kate (Caty) married a Henry Bray after her marriage to Columbus's father.
If the Carr family came to Scotland from Norman-France

find a Crest showing clan allegiance to another clan
chief rather than a Coat of Arms showing allegiance to

Thank you so very, very much for the marriage information on my grandparents. You have no idea how exciting this is for me and for my son, and my cousin in Vancouver. We have been trying to find WWC's parent's names for years. Thank so you much. Perhaps now we can find out something about WWC. He's been a mystery to our family. When he left Lucy, she refused to tell her sons anything about their father and would never speak of him again.
