'The Path
There is a path in early morning That I must take each day. From Sunrise to
Sunset, I walk along its way, Sometimes, with joyful step, Or trudge a
lonesome path. There's happiness, bittersweet,--And sorrow along the way.
Hesitant, with backward glance, I try to find the path I trod the day
before. There is no stopping, No time for memories. The Sunrise ends behind
me. Sunset is all that I can see.' From The Legacy of a Gentle Man: The
Poetry of Gordon Carr. For more information contact melbas1(a)verizon.net

I had posted this once before, but am unable to find the original post.
We are looking for a woman who is the daughter of James Denton Carr II of Tennessee. We knkow they were not married, we also know that James wanted to adopt the girl when he got married but that did not work out.
We have a tidbit of information that her mothers' name may have been Margaret.
She would have been born before 1955, we know that at one point she called another Carr relative looking for him...we like so much to find her and get to know her, and for her to know us

Ellen CARR, born about 1835 in Ireland, married John HAROLD (HARROLD) in Paterson, New Jersey (US). I know much about the HAROLDs, who came from along the Tipperary-Laois border. But I know little about Ellen and her family. According to her marriage (1859) and death record (1880, Paterson NJ), Ellen Carr's parents were Terence and Mary. That's all I know... Ellen appears to have had no other family in Paterson. Has anyone seen Terence & Mary Carr with daughter Ellen in Irish records?

Do you have names for Charles' siblings? Is there any evidence his family was Quaker before coming to IL (where fire and arguments broke up Quaker communities.) I have a William b. 1814 whose family passed thru PA for awhile, left a few (insufficient) Quaker records but dispersed after Clinton IL. Other names populn this family were John, Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth... If you see any correlation I'd be happy to share leads.
