Ian,
If your Robert was christened in BP Middleham I believe we have a match. Was the mother of the children you named a Mary? I think we have witten to each other before but at that time could not make a match. I have a christening date for Robert of 15 Aug 1779. Siblings - Wm christened 1785, Ann - 1792, Robinson - 1793, Jonathan - 1795, and Aron - 1798. The parents were John Carr and Jane.
Were the children you mentioned christened at Kelloe? I have the microfiche BMD transcripts of Kelloe, Bishop Middleham, and Trimdon for 1813 to 1839.
Email me.
Janis

I have not had the chance to travel to Schuylkill Haven to research Bernard and Mary. The info that I have I got through census records and through information from family members. (I have found quite a few of the Carr descendants.) All I have for John is that he was a railroad worker. The first Bernard Carr was a boatman, as were his sons, before the family men took up railroad work. Interestingly enough, the Bernard name still is in the family!! I will email you directly so we can see if its a connection! It sounds promising.

Hi Judy,
How "curious" are you? :-) Why not tell me something about your "My Carr's went from Franklin Co., North Carolina, (USA) to Tennessee and then one son went to Georgia. I'm really curious about this Malissa because you have listed three surnames (CARR, BARNES, COLLINS) which are also in my family line." I posted, in an attempt to build on what I have about these surnames with southern TN and north AL ties, with ties back to GA and NC. You may have some info which will help me help you and many others. Thanks for the post.

My Carr's went from Franklin Co., North Carolina, (USA) to Tennessee and then one son went to Georgia. I'm really curious about this Malissa because you have listed three surnames (CARR, BARNES, COLLINS) which are also in my family line.
I'm researching Caroline M. Carr, born in about 1813 in Vermont, died before
May 1855, and buried at Cuba, Allegany Co., NY. She married Jonathan Hall,
born in about 1811 in Chenango Co., NY, died in 1875 in Morristown, Rice
Co., Minnesota. The family is listed in the 1840 census of South Bristol,
Ontario Co., NY, p. 253.
Caroline M. Carr may have been a daughter of John Carr (b. 1769 NY) who md.
1788 Mary Prescott (b. 1772) or of their son John Carr (b. abt. 1793-1796
VT). John Carr, Jr., settled at Canandaigua, Ontario Co., NY, and died at
Middlesex, Yates Co., NY, in 1861, according to the book, The Carr Family
Records, pp. 99-100, 165-167. He is listed in the 1820 and 1830 censuses of
Canandaigua and the 1860 census of Middlesex. The 1860 census shows that his
wife was Sophronia, born in about 1804 in NY. Was she his first wife?
Canandaigua and Middlesex are adjacent to South Bristol where Jonathan and
Caroline M. Hall lived. Does anyone have any information on Caroline M.
(Carr) Hall?
Has anyone seen "Linkletter, Lefurge and Carr Families," a 21-page
typescript by Sarah Ann Robinson? It's on microfilm at the Family History
Library.
Jonathan and Caroline (Carr) Hall's family moved from South Bristol to Cuba,
Allegany Co., NY, in about 1848. The family is listed in the 1850 census of
Cuba, Allegany Co., NY, p. 250. There's a Rosanna Carr in the 1870 census of
Cuba, page 12. She was born in about 1785 in Vermont, so she would have been
the right age to be Caroline's mother. Rosanna was living in the household
of Russell Ford, age 55, born in Vermont.
Thanks,
Rick Crume
