From an Antique Mall in Kansas City, MO, I purchased a photograph of a lovely young woman. Written on the photo is "Sincerely yours Rose Carr. I'm unsure of the middle initial S,or L perhaps? Photo appears to be about 1920's or 1930's. Could be a graduation or communion photo. She is holding a bouquet of flowers, a bow with long ribbon streamers is attached to the bodice of her white dress.
Contact me if this is your family photo.

The Border Riever yDNA Search Web site address is very long and has
been split on two lines by the mail. You will need to copy the entire
address, which is on two lines and ends in .htm into your browser
window to call up the address. Opening your e-mail window wider may
help to get the address displayed all on one line.

I am looking to see if anyone might have Abram or Abraham Carr in their line.
He married my gg grandmother Mary Jane Page in Vancouver, WA. Since they
married late in life, I believe he was possibly married before. I have a death
record for him, willing to share what info I have, if he belongs in your family.
It states he was born March 22, 1833, in Pennsylvania.
Hope to hear from someone,
Cheryl

New Years Eve party (18)’52 at my house (John CARR)
“There were present at that private party four ladies, now residents of Eureka namely: Mrs. Harietta EWING, Mrs. Thomas CARR, Mrs. A MONROE (then Miss ALBEE) and Mrs. John CARR.”
“Some of the gentlemen who assembled thiat New Years night ’53, to enjoy themselves under Black Dave’s fiddling, have since become leading men of the nation. Amongst them were John P. JONES, Senator from the State of Nevada, then a young ruddy-faced boy; J. C. BURCH, afterwards a member of Congress; E. S. McKENZIE, one of the State directors of California, and afterwards an officer of the rebel army, killed while fighting Siegel in Missouri in ’62; Ed Rowe, Deputy State Treasurer when J. Neely JOHNSON was governor of California; Will LOWE, afterwards Sheriff of the county and another Rebel Officer during our late unpleasentness. These were a few of the boys who partook of our hospitality and barley cakes at the first private party given in Trinity County.

The results are in, and oh what fun. So far three Carr's and one
Carroll have joined the Kerr/Carr World Y-DNA map. In addition, there
is one Kerr sample. The Kerr y-DNA sample is from the Oxford Ancestry
database and matches that of the Sarmatian Roman mercenaries. Perhaps
he is one Kerr whose names originates from the Gaelic Kerr meaning
'lives in a fort'. All of the participants have typical DNA patterns
for England and Scotland, but they also all vary significantly. Since
all are unique and there are only five, we can't pin down what DNA
pattern is common to what area yet. So, to be able to make since of
Kerr/Carr lineage using y-DNA, we need more Kerr participants in this
study.
Hoping you are intrigued to know where your ancestors really came from,
were they from original Briton stock, Anglo-Saxon, Sarmation or a
different variant entirely. Were they Kerrs from Ferniehirst or Kers
from Cessford or Kerrs from Dumfries or Kerrs from England or Kars from
Germany. This DNA can assist you in learning what your origins truly
are and supporting your Genealogical search. So, I encourage you to
join in this y-DNA search and find out for yourself.
I am just a participant myself, so my only gain is sharing the
adventure with you. Here is a link where you can have your DNA
evaluated at a good discount and join a large Y-DNA study of family
surnames from all over the Border Region of Scotland. Many people with
many family surnames are adding their Y-DNA each day, the database is
growing rapidly, but the Carrs/Kerrs are late as usual, let them now
join in earnest, Sero sed serio.
Click on this link, and at the very least, read about the Kerr families
of old and the varied origins of the Scottish Border people. Hope you
will join us in this great adventure.

Looking for anyone related to Alice (Chase) Carr. She had a brother, Wallace Fairbanks Chase. b/abt. 1882. I believe Wallace may have lived in Little Rock, Ark. in the 1930's. Wallace married my g-grandmother in 1948, St. Louis, Mo. It may be possible to find information on Wallace through the family of Alice (Chase) Carr. Alice would have had two nephews, William and Charles Chase.
According to a 1930 census in Arkansas, Wallace may have been married to Mabel Lodge. The second marriage my g-grandmother, Mamie E. Smith in 1948.
Any information on this family would be so greatly appreciated.
You may e-mail me off list leta.sheaffer(a)verizon.net
Many Thanks,
