Look at A Carr The Carr Book Caleb Carr # 123 on pg. 16 and you will see one of my sources--what is missing is the last child, Caleb born March 1701 after his death. I encourage you to look up my sources from my last e-mail and tell me what you think, especially the land deeds, which explain why he wasn't listed. Caleb's father, Gov. Caleb Carr, was married three times--Ann Easton, Mercy Vaughan and Sarah Clarke--maybe that is where you are getting more than one marriage.
Let me know what you think.

Julie,
The Caleb Carr (Governor) that was b. 23 Aug 1657 wasn't the son of Caleb Carr & Mercy Vaughn. He was the son of Robert Carr. Caleb m. Phyllis Green daughter of John Greene(Deputy Governor). And he was only married once. This was according to family bible & diary by William Carr's wife who was Caleb's (b. 1616 d. 1695 from drowning & was Governor) uncle & aunt. Caleb who was born in 1657 died in 1690.
Caleb b. 1657 was only married once. But in my searching I have found him married to 2 other women: Mary & Deborah Sayles (so unless he was a poligamist this can't be right, not according to the family bible & diary.
Sources are:
New England Families Genealogical & Memorial Vol. 2, pg. 1556-1557; Vol.4, pg. 2058-2059
Now according to Rhode Island Presidents & Governors before 1842:
Caleb Carr b. 1616 in London, England was married to a MErcy Vaughn but only list 1 son Edward. It also sd that Caleb m. a Sarah Pinner 2nd wife.
I wonder if the information from pharagraph above should actually belong to this Caleb.
Will keep looking. Let me know what you think.

The above Caleb Carr was born 23 Aug. 1657 in Newport. He was the son of Caleb Carr (born 9 Dec 1616 in London, England) and Mercy Vaughn. Caleb married Deborah Sayles in 1681. (born circ 1756) she was the daughter of John Sayles and Mary Williams.
Their children were John, infant, Mary, Benjamin, Daniel, Peleg, Deborah, Robey, Rachel, Sayles and Caleb, born 22 March 1701. It is this Caleb who had a son named Benjamin. (see American Genealogist, v.1g, pg. 130-1.. ) and Deeds of Warwick, RI Vol 2, pg. 148, Vol 3. pg. 85, Vol 9 pg.115. Obvious, I dug up my file this afternoon. What do you think? Julie

Julie,
I have Caleb who died 11 Oct 1700, who had a son Caleb b. 1679 but was born before his father's death. He was the 2nd child out of 7.
Do you know Caleb's wife's name the one who had a son Benjamin. I do Have Caleb with 2 wife's.
1st. Johanna Slocum

Does anyone have information on these CARR brothers in Barnwell Co., SC in the late 1700s-early 1800s? Cornelius was possibly married to a MASON. He was found in the 1810 census records of Barnwell Co. He is possibly the father of Matilda Carr. One daughter married an AILLS, one daughter married a SANDIFER.
These brothers moved to LA and then to MS. Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you, Sandra Zenger

Julie,
In all accts. that I have found Caleb never had a son named Benjamin. Caleb's father was Caleb & his father was Robert & his father was Benjamin died in 1672. I wonder if this is who you are looking for. Even the Family Bible doen't list a BEnjamin Carr son of Caleb.
If you have any more info that could help let me know.

Sorry I didn't read further before replying He also had a son Benjamin, based on the Tillinghast diary, and Warwick land deeds. I'm really looking for this Benjamin. Any ideas? He does not appear anywhere in Carr written histories. Only record is his probate in Exeter, July 1762. I'll try to dig out my charts later. Thanks, Julie
