Looking for information on the parents of William Franklin CARR, born March 1858 in Georgia and married about 1877 Georgia S. ???, and died after 1910.
William Franklin Carr had at least two sisters, Margaret born abt 1856 in GA and Georgia born about 1861 in GA, they are found in William's household on the 1880 census in Fulton County, GA.
William F. Carr and Georgia(b. 1852-GA) had 6 children: James, b. Nov 1878 - married Amanda; Alice b. Nov 1881; Maggie, b. Oct 1884; William Marion b. May 1892 - married Martha Jane Burton; David b. 1897.
As mentioned before William F. is first found on the 1880 census in Fulton County, so I have been working from that
area outward (this is my Uncle's family and I'm trying to help my Aunt who does not currently have a computer). I went back to the 1870 census for Fulton County, GA and found
on page 381B West End-Atlanta PO, dwelling 105/family 100, enumerated 4 Jun 1870
George Carr, age 53 white male, farm laborer born in GA
Catherine, age 30 white female, keeping hse. born in GA
Wiley, age 13 white male, born in GA
Nancy, age 8 white female, born in GA
Georgiana, age 7 white female, born in GA
Jackson, age 4 white male, born in GA
Sherman, age 2 white male, born in GA
**George is also found on pages 401B and 402A, enumerated 15 Jun 1870 - I guess they moved**
Is Wiley William Franklin?
Is Margaret (1880 census)the same person as Nancy (1870 census)?
George has apparently died by the 1880 census, Kate is found
with Sherman in Palmetto, Campbell County, GA. Campbell
County was later merged with Fulton County.
I have information on the family of William Marion and Martha Jane Burton and can furnish further contact information. I would appreciate any help
Nice to hear from you, Kathleen. I maintain a Carr database at Rootsweb,
which includes many lines, not just my own. I wish I could claim a connection
to this one, as it is quite interesting, but I regret I cannot. I'm glad my
site was useful to you.
I had some brief correspondence a few years ago with someone researching
Carrs from Co Wexford. She sent me a copy of pertinent pages from a book "The
Late Bishop of Ossory", which happened to include George Whitmore Carr's
children. But that's where my info ends on the subject.
You might get a reply from a Carr researcher or two from the Rootsweb Carr
list, to which I will send a copy of this note. Let me know if you have any
luck in the matter.

Hello
If you are researching at a Court House somewhere, and happen across a
Carr individual recorded name leading you to a Cave or Caves individual's
actual document, or you have already found such, please let me know of such
findings.
I have recently found several such errors in Court House records in
Southern Illinois, where the listings in the record books is under Carr, but
when I looked at the actual documents, they were in fact Cave/Caves
individuals.

Hello
I need help from the Carr Family. Especially in Missouri and Illinois.
I'm researching the Cave/Caves Family for my mom, now 83, who wants to
know where her Grandparents and Great Grandparents are buried. But what I am
running into is a mess in the Court House Records.
Martie W. Carr is listed as being the grandson of Absolom S. Swisher in
the 1900 Census of Adams County Illinois. Is this Martie W. Carr, actually a
Carr Family member or a major error in the records?
Martie W. Cave, son of Absolom S. Swisher married Beulah Estella Simmons
in 1915 in Knox County Illinois and they are my mom's parents. Martie W. Cave
listed his parents as Merrritt H. Cave and Jennie Swisher. In the 1900
Census of Adams County Illinois, Absolom S. Swisher, and his grandson Martie
W. Carr are listed as residing with Jennie. The right area of the country,
right family names according to family history, but the records are wrong.
Then, I was looking thru the records of Brown County Illinois where
Merrit H. Cave married Jennie E. Swisher October 16, 1877. There I found yet
another Carr individual listed in the record books as a Carr, but when I
looked at the actual document, she was a Cave.
St. Clair County, and Butler County Missouri is the same way, and where I
am now searching.
So what I am asking of you is this. If any of you have found or do find
Carr Family individuals recorded, that lead you to a Cave/Caves Individual's
document, would you please let me know?
