Hi Pat !
I saw an 1850 Fannin County Texas Census on the internet which listed my GG
Grandfather (John Wesley Carmack) and his family. Also, on that census
was a family of CARRs as follows"
164a 1 Carr Fanny 24 Tenn pg0154a.txt
146b 30 Carr H. 18 IL pg0142a.txt
146b 32 Carr James 11 IL pg0142a.txt
146b 42 Carr Jno 32 MO pg0154a.txt
146b 32 Carr M. 9 IA pg0142a.txt
146b 29 Carr William 58 TN pg0142a.txt
173b 4 Carr Wm. T. 22 MO pg0166b.txt
What do you make of this and would you have any idea from whence this
family(s) comes? I'm thinking the William Carr b. abt 1792 in TN would be
about right to be a brother of Susanna , and the 'Fanny' Carr listed here
has the name of Fanny Sells of Overton County married to
John Carr. Also, my Susanna named one of her children "Fannie"..
Help!!!!!
History: As many of you know, I am looking for parents and siblings of my
GG Grandmother, Susanna CARR Carmack, b. 1804 and married in Overton County
in 1822 to John Wesley Carmack.
Thanks all,
Norm
Does anyone have a Carr family located in Brainerd (Crow Wing County)
Minnesota in the 1890s?

I doubt it. My Roebuck Carr was b 25 Sep 1721 in Germany, of German
parents and died in Hardy Co. WV about 1805. His wife was Swiss. I have
not found any Native American in this group unless they married one. But
there
aren't any of them that were "pure" Native American. Some of the wives
of
great grand children were only part.
I don't think that your Roebuck Carr is part of this group. Where was he
supposed
to be from?

Can anyone help me with the CARR family that was located in
Readfield, Kennebec Co, Maine in the mid 1700s and 1800s?
BENJAMIN CARR
GEORGE CARR
GEORGE GAGE CARR
JOSEPH CARR
SILVANUS or SYLVANUS or SULLIVAN CARR
I read somewhere that this family helped settle Chesterville,
Franklin Co, Maine. I am trying to located the names of the children of
these men to see if I can connect them to JACOB CARR of Chesterville and
Phillips(Berlin), Maine.
Some of these Carrs in Readfield were born in Salisbury, MA and
at leasdt one in RI.

He was known as Roebuck to the family. It was like someone named James, but known as Scooter to the family. It was the reason I had so much trouble initially. I only had Roebuck. I didn't know he was Henry in all the official paperwork.
Hi, all ,
somewhere, I have more info on the CARR/Sugrue couple mentioned below... and
I believe I sent a copy of Margaret (CARR) Porier's obituary to the list
some time ago:
from the Providence (RI) Journal <projo.com>:
7.16.2001
IRENE C. McVAY - Cumberland, RI
IRENE C. McVAY, 84, formerly of Pilgrim Terrace, died yesterday at Emerald
Bay Manor. She was the wife of the late Dr. Frank L. McVay. Born in South
Attleboro, MA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Sara (Sugrue) Carr, she had
lived in Cumberland for 40 years.
She leaves a daughter, Maryfrances McVay of Cumberland; four sons, Frank L.
McVay Jr., David E. and Peter J. McVay, all of
Lincoln, and Paul C. McVay of North Providence; a sister, Joan Walsh in
Florida; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the
sister of the late Margaret Porier, Alice Magill, Charlotte Sutton, Rose
Watkins, Claire Simpson and Earl Carr.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Manning-Heffern Funeral
Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd.,
