included in The Carr Book, by Arthur Carr, pp 222 and 369. FYI.

Don't know how much information the group already has, but I came across
two CW Generals in the CARR family:
For the site, go to http://sunsite.utk.edu/civil-war/warweb.html
which gives you the American Civil War Home Page; from there to Civil
War Resources to Combatants & Regimental Histories to Civil War Generals
to Union, ltr C for CARR.
You get EUGENE ASA CARR, b 20 Mar 1830 Concord NY, d 2 Dec 1910,
Washington, DC; graduate of West Point 1850. His war service record,
post Army service as an Indian fighter, retired 1893. There is a book
by James T. King, "War Eagle: A Life of General Eugene A. Carr", Univ of
Nebraska Press, 1963. (More details in the writeup)
and JOSEPH BRADFORD CARR b 16 Aug 1828 Albany, NY, d 24 Feb 1895 Troy,
NY. Served in Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, etc. Post
Army service: NY State Secretary of State. (More details in write up).
This is an excellent site for all sorts of CW data. Much better than
the USGENWEB site and others I've been checking.
Cheers,
Ellen

Anyone know which line is home to John and Dorcas (Nye) Carr, of Jamestown,
RI? I estimate John was born abt 1810, but dob is only a rough guess. See
chart below. Seems odd that they don't appear in The Carr Book, by Arthur
Carr. I haven't run into them in Carr Family Records, by Edson Carr, either.
Here are a few possible idents for John from my database:
1) John b 23 Mar 1809, son of John and Mary (Wilbur) Carr
2) John b 4 Mar 1806, son of Ebenezer and Mary (Underwood) Carr
3) John b abt 1800+, son of John b 11 Sep 1782, grandson of Samuel C Carr b
1742

It's been some time since I've been on the CARR list so this is in fact
almost a new posting.
I have Francis CARR, born ca 1806 in Mass. and died after 1875, possibly in
Oswego Co., NY.
He married Phela Delpha HEATH, daughter of David HEATH of Orange Co., VT.
They had several children, but the one I'm most concerned about now is
Hubbard D. Carr. Hubbard was born 1837 in Haverhill, Grafton Co., NH. He
married Harriet LIDDLE, 1868 in Constantia, Oswego Co., NY. He served in the
Civil War and that is where the succeeding information was located.
He and Harriet had several children, but only 3 survived their deaths and of
those, only 2 have been located, and of those, only one has been found (so
far) with children. This information was found yesterday so I've just
started the followup.
Minnie Jane Carr married Frank A. Smith and had two daughters, Pearl who
married C. S. SLAWSON in Spokane/Opportunity, WA, and Opal who married Arthur
OLSEN of Spokane/Opportunity. Minnie and Frank are buried in Spokane The
Pines Cemetery.
Clinton CARR was the sole surviving sibling mentioned in Minnie's 1953
obituary. Clinton lived in Hubbard, OR at the time.
