The Carr Book, by Arthur A Carr (1947), and Carr Family Records, by Edson Carr
(1894) are available from Tuttle Antiquarian Books, Rutland, VT. Tuttle was
the original publisher of Arthur's book. Edson's book runs over $100. I
noticed that Family Treemaker Online's new library service ($49/yr) has Edson
Carr's book among its holdings online. Possible it would be cheaper to access
the book that way. Depends on what you want.

I have never seen anything that listed a Susannah Chiles marrying a William
Carr.
We do know that a Carr married a CHILES sister of Walter Chiles d.1760 &
CHILES m. SUTHERLAND and had among others William CARR b. abt 1707. died
1760, Spotsylvania Co., VA, he married Susannah (no surname). This Susannah
married 2nd Ludwick O'Neal.
Also there is no known Henry CHILES that married any Mary CARR. I saw that
posted recently. I think they ment Henry Chiles m. Mercy WEBB. Which had
been incorrectly printed in the early VA Quarterlies as Mary CARR which has
been proven incorrect.

Looking for any information / details of the above man.
What I have is that he married EMILY STEARN 10 Aug 1864.
Apparantly he was born in Tockwith in Yorkshire, ENG but have
had NO proof of this?
Also believed his father was Thomas CARR and mother Sarah ANDERSON?
He resided at Moliagul in Vic., AUS and do not know when /
how he came to AUS. Any lookups availabe here please??
He and Emily had the following children;-
Emily Carr STEARN, b 1858
George STEARN, b 1860 then they married,
Laura Jane CARR, b 1864, d 1885
Herbert CARR, b & d 1866
Thomas William CARR, b 1870
and
Sarah Adeliza CARR, b 1873
Your help would be appreciate.
Thankyou,
Heather SMITH (YATES)
Fellow Carr Researchers:
It has been a while since I have asked:
Has anyone identified the parents of the William Carr who married Elizabeth
Winston and were most likely the parents of Anne Winston Carr who married
George Waller II???
I have all the descendant information, but this question puzzles me. On a
recent genforum post it is suggested that the first wife of the WM Carr who
married Susannah Chiles in the post today was Elizabeth Winston.
Thanks In Advance?

Hello Carr Family Researchers!
I am newly researching my family history, and I am hoping some of this
information may sound familiar to other CARR researchers. I live overseas,
so unfortunately my research resources are limited.
PRINCE ALBERT (P.A.) CARR was my great-grandfather. He was born ca.
1840-1850, location unknown. He died in IN sometime after 1900. He married
SUSANNAH WEST, ca. 1878, possibly in Boone County, IN. Susannah was born
ca. 1850 in IN. She was the daughter of SAMUEL WEST and SUSANNAH EVANS of
Boone County, IN.
Prince Albert and Susannah had 5 children born approximately 1880-90. The
names of the children were: MAE DELANE (DELANA?), HATTIE, EDITH, ETHEL, and
ALLEY (ALLIE?). There may also have been twins that died at birth.
Prince Albert, Susannah, and children moved from IN to KS(?) and other
locations by covered wagon. However, they returned to IN eventually, and I
believe are both buried there.
After the death of Susannah, Prince Albert remarried. The name of the 2nd
spouse is unknown by me. This second union possibly produced more children,
and the 2nd wife may have had children by a former marriage.
I have much information that I will gladly share on the ancestors of Prince
Albert and Susannah. I also have much family history on Susannah West's
line. I am hoping that this information on Prince Albert may trigger a
response from Indiana Carr researchers, as the name Prince Albert is indeed
uncommon, although I know little of his ancestry. Any help will be
gratefully appreciated.
Regards,
Teresa

I am looking for any information on my great great
grandfather, Joseph Carr and any descendants.
What I know is he was born in Chatteris,England
August 27,1825 to John and Mary Carr. He had a
brother, John Carr born June 01,1817 in County
Tyrone Ireland. Other brothers were Richard and
William H Carr.
My Joseph, came to Bucks Co. Penn, in 1837.
He married first Sarah Altman, second Caroline
Malenger, third Susanah Pixley. He lived in Penn.
Ohio, Minnesota, and settled in Iowa in 1870.
Does anyone have a connection to these? I have
names of all 15 children that were born to Joseph.
Does anyone have a connection to these Carr's?
Please email me at : tdbmjb(a)jetnetinc.net

Have A Martha Harper, born March 6, 1824 who married a Dr. Frank Carr.
They had a large family, but this is the only information Iknow of her
family. Martha Harper's parents were Samuel Semple and Jane Crawford
(Both from Ireland, came to the U.S. in 1812). Let me know if any
relatives out there.
Thank you,

Hello to all! I'm new to list and just beginning to trace my Carr lineage.
It is as follows:
ggrandfather: John Peter Carr b. 6/1/1876 in Doylestown PA
married Elizabeth Fritz b. 1/2/1880 in Philadelphia
PA
no marriage date.
John & Elizabeth's children:
Gus (possibily Augustus?), Irene, Charles, Ed (Edward/Edwin?) and my
grandmother, Mary Ann Carr. Mary Ann was born in Chalfont PA 2/12/1898.
Married George Washington Whertley b. 10/6/1989 in Chester PA. No marriage
date.
George and Mary Ann had 2 sons: George Washington Whertley, Jr.
and my father, James Frank Whertley b. 9/10/1923 in Philadelphia PA.
Married Pauline Betty Ray b. 5/31/1923 on 11/19/1943.
Any one recognize any of these?
Trudy
Does anyone on the list have Yorkshire roots?
Henry CARR married Margaret SMITH 16 Nov 1697 at St. Paul's Heslington,
Yorkshire and had the following children Henry 1699, John 1701, Katheran
1703 Richard 1707 and William b/d 1710.
Hannah died 23 Jun 1710 and Henry CARR married Hannah CAWOOD 29 July 1711

Henry CARR's birth place circa 1670.

Hello List,
Here is another of my mystery Carrs, hope he fits into one of your family
lines.
I am researching the CARR family and have some information that was published
several years ago, with no substanting sources. I am appealing to any of you
that might be connected to this line or have knowledge to please contact me
and let's see if we can put together some evidence that these folks really
excisted.
Micajah Walter CARR -- birth place and date unknown, supposed to be the son of
Gideon Winston CARR, II. Micajah was married to Ann Thurmond, place and date
unknown.
Children from that marriage as I have them are
1) Benjamin Franklin CARR b 1818 place unknown
2) James F. CARR no other information
3) Mary CARR no other information
4) Marenda CARR no other information
The above information was published in a book about the CARR FAMILY of East
TEXAS, the name of the book is unknown to me. Hazel Polk is the author. I
would also LOVE to have a copy of this book for my personal library, as this
is my paternal grandmother's line.

Folks:
I am looking to connect with a CARR/KERR researcher in or near Independence
MO. The Genealogy and Local History Branch of the Mid Continent Library in
Independence MO (zip 64050) has 25 files by a CARR/KERR researcher named Nanon
Carr. She was a correspondent of my parents. If anyone can go to the library
and make copies, I will pay for both a set for me and a set for the person
making the copies. Can anyone help?
