Subject: Patrick Kerr/Carr
This comes from the Greene County History. Patrick Carr, born 4 July
1785, married Sarah Massey 30 Dec 1806 in Greene Co., TN. Sarah was
born May, 1781, St. James, Goochland, VA. Sarah and Patrick had six
children: Martha, born 30 Sep 1807; Gordon, born 16 Feb 1809, TN; Mary,
born 5 Feb 1811; Thomas, born 9 Feb 1813; Andrew born 1815, VA; Benjamin
, born 11 May 1816. There may have been other children. Patrick Carr
came to Sullivan County, TN with his father, William Carr, who may have
come from Ireland.
William Carr was born 15 Mar 1755. He married, first, Martha Harris, 11
Apr 1780. She died 30 Oct 1815, Sullivan Co., TN. William and Martha
had at least two children: Joseph, born 30 May 1781, TN and Patrick.
William married, second, Mary Goforth, on 25 Feb 1816.
William Carr fought in the battle of Kings Mountain (Pension File 1896).
He died 16 Apr 1838, Blountville, TN and is buried in Concord
Graveyard, Sullivan Co., TN.
Thomas Carr, Sr, born 9 Feb 1813 died 25 Aug 1898 in KY. He married
Sarah Ann Ausborn ca 1833. She was born 16 Jun, 1816, Sullivan Co., TN

eight children: Emeline, born 11 Jan 1834 in TN; Mildred, b ca 1836, TN
; Dulaney Richardson Carr, born 3 Jan 1838; Nancy or Caroline, born ca
1840, TN; T>A> born ca 1842, TN; George W., 19 Oct 1850, TN; Margaret, b
. ca 1847, TN; and Luraney, born 1856, KY.
Thomas Carr served in the Union Army in Co C, 1st Ky Cavalry. Thomas,
52, went in as a farrier.
1. There are 11 CARRs listed in the Index of the Hampton NH online
site:
http://www.hampton.lib.nh.us/genealog/index.htm
This is an excellent site if you have other lines which passed through
NH at some point.
2. My "History of Cowley County" (KS) lists the following CARRs:
Julia Carr (apparently wife of Daniel--prob M. Julia Carr) - among
group of earliest settlers to Arkansas City area.
Daniel Carr @ 26 & M.J. Carr @ 22 were listed in 1872 & 1875 in Omnia
Twp.
W.D. Carr @ 28 & M.J. Carr @ 26 were listed in 1879 in Baltimore,
Silver Creek Twp.
Dan(iel) and Julia Carr apparently had claims in/near area where
Arkansas City now stands.
3. Same book lists the following KERRs:
Mrs. A. Kerr was living with the family of D.D. & Anna H. Kellogg in
Vernon Twp 1873 census. (The Kellogs were born in NY and came to KS via
ILL.)
Hope this helps someone.

Hello everyone
I subscribed about 20 minutes ago so thought I would post my (very few
CARR's)
Father: William CARR, a Police Officer
Mother: Elizabeth Alice FAIRWEATHER
Child: Elsie May CARR. born 19/12/1886 in Orford Suffolk (I visited
this summer and it's beautiful - brill church)
No trace on the 1891 census but I will try again because my eyes and
head were in a sorry state after a marathon session.
When Elsie May married in Framlingham, Suffolk in July 1906 (to Frank
Jonathon BOTWRIGHT) , William CARR is deceased (not good English -
sorry) She was just 19 years old and strangely enough, my grandfather
was born just 3 months later.
I have located the graves of Elsie May (D 9/11/1957), Frank Jonathon
(d. 20/4/1959) and beside them a small stone to Elizabeth CARR.
This is it so far. If anyone is missing any of these CARRs please
contact me because I'd like to link them to someone.

I found the following while researching last weekend & thought I'd pass the
info along.........note: I typed these exactly as they apppear with one
exception--the "L" stands for "pounds" (monetary) as my computer doesn't do
the actual sign for pounds.
If anyone has a connection or is working on North/South Carolina KERR families

Cami,
Thank you for the offer to look up my TN Carrs: I would appreciate any
help. About the TN sites you mentioned, I'm not yet on the internet. My
computer is a 486SX33 with a 202MB hard drive--don't laugh :-) So, I
just have e-mail. Is there any way to post to these sites via e-mail?
By the way, I believe, but have no absolute proof, that John W. Carr &
Sarah Agnes (Carr) Pendergrass were children of William & Sarah Carr.
And, I'm pretty sure that Samuel M. Carr is related too. Below are their
census entries for 1850 & 1860:
(1) 1850 U.S. Census, Hamilton County, Tennessee (Harrison).

CARR, John, 14, mw, TN; CARR, Agnes, 12, fw, TN; CARR, Richard, 16, mw,
laborer, TN.
(2) 1860 U.S. Census, Hamilton County, Tennessee (District No. 11 - Sale
Creek), p. 274. Date: 01 Aug 1860.

Trying to find family of Clara Belle CAR, CARR, KARR. She was born at
College Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio in November, 1859. She married John
Niles Ludlow, Sr. son of Dr. William B. Ludlow of College Hill, Ohio.
They had a son named Allen Karr Ludlow. In the family bible it looks
like one "r" on her last name CAR(R). Has anyone noticed Carr spelled
with one "R"? Clara died in 1932 in Denver, CO. Thanks
For Lola L Allen & other Carr researchers in the TN area--
I will look up your "stuff" as time allows this weekend. Also, there are

Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile. I am searching for info on Hannah Nancy
Carr born around 1801, Fayette Co, PA married Samuel Joseph Wilson.
Thanks,
Terri
Hi
Just got FTM Mortality Index: United States 1850-1880. I found this

Worker, Cause of Death: Lynched. This happen in Weld Co, CO 1870.
Fellow Carr Researchers:
Just ran across my second line of Carrs -- Pretty soon it may be up there with
my three separate Williams' and Robertson/Robinsons!. But first...
I ran across these Kerrs looking for another family (Williams) in the online
Jasper Co 1850 census. I DO NOT know who they are. The census can be found at:
www:rootsweb.com/~mojasper/1850Census.htm.
Kerr, Elizabeth Sarcoxie Twp 367
Kerr, Isaac Being 41st District 389
Kerr, John B. Being 41st District 393
Kerr, John J. Sarcoxie Twp 361
Second -- I have a Flora Hawkins who was born on August 2, 1695 in St. James
Parish, Anne Arundel CO, MD. She married Christopher CHOATE II, who was born
abt 1685 in Anne Arundel, d.aft 1745?? His son Christopher CHOATE III was
born in 1720 in Baltimore Md, moving later to NC and then TN, according to
some sources, but there were MANY Christopher Choates, including Choates in
Pittsylvania VA ca. 1760-80.
According to some sources, she is the daughter of Susannah CARR m. Augustine
Hawkins. According to a post April 9, 1998 on this list by Carol Mitchell,
Susannah was first married to John SMICK (and outlived Augustine to marry a
Thomas Tracy, who deserted her). She was the daughter of WALTER CARR of
Herring Creek in Anne Arundel. There is some information that Susannah may
have had a brother Thomas CARR.
Is anyone out there researching or familiar with this WALTER CARR of Herring
Creek, Anne Arundel CO, MD. And are they any relation to AND are they any
relationship to my Captain William CARR who married Elizabeth WINSTON, parents
of Anne Winston CARR.
Thanks in advance.
Janet Hunter
Joseph A. Carr, of Collingwood Ontario, was 28 in 1886 when he married
Mary Connor of Osprey. His parents were: Joseph and Mary. Unusual, I
know that the son married a woman with the same name but so says the
marriage entry.
He indicates on a US Michigan Census of 1910, that he was born in Canada
(somewhere I read Toronto?) and his father was from Scotland and spoke
scotch. His mother is listed as having been born in Ireland and spoke
english. He and his wife, Mary, and son Samuel emigrated to Michigan in
the Cheboygan area in 1880. He had alot more kids in Cheboygan though
they later spread out across Michigan: Herbert, Fred, William, Elsie
(died in 1920s of TB) and Elizabeth (my gmother).
I would like to know if Joseph A. Carr had brothers or sisters, and
better yet, from where did his father, Joseph Sr., and mother Mary come
from.
