This is the first time in months that I have seen any references to
West Virginia Carrs. I am thrilled.
My WVA Carr is my great-grandfather, Edward CARR, b. Ireland 1837,
m. Jane DEVLIN; came to America; lived in Moundsville and
Wheeling; d. 1906.
Any connection to anyone?
I need help! I am looking for Sarah E.(LLOYD) KARR. She was born in OH
in 1854. In the 1870 census, she was not yet married and was living with
her mother, Catherine LLOYD, in Wellsville, Columbiana Co., OH. She was
no longer in Wellsville in the 1880 census. When her mother died in
1898, she was listed as "Mrs. Sarah E. KARR from Godfrey, IL." I could
not find a marraige record.
This is the only clue I have. Does anyone recognize this name? I would
appreciate any information. Thanks. Diane Betteridge
I would love to have any copies you could provide as I am just getting
started with my geneolagy. Gerldine Carr was married to Joe david Hall, but i
don't know when. They had a daughter named Syble Ann Hall, Birth Mississippi
1944, I think. She Died Jan. 1945 in Oak Grove, La. This is what I have in my
mothers bible which I receive after her death.

I am sending this to the Carr List, in case someone else might recognize
any of these people. One never knows.
Yes, I can just barely reach your line! Elizabeth to Benjamin to Conrad
to Joseph to Henry! Sound familiar? I didn't have any more on
Elizabeth than born 1841 in St Clair County Illinois, but we do have at
least Henry in Common!
My Carr lines are quite complex. I decend from our dear Henry by no
less than 5 ways. I have lines in the area that might find him yet
again, who knows?
1. My father, Everett Jordan to Glen Jordan to Fleet Jordan to Adonijah
Jordan to William Jordan, who married Elizabeth Carr, daughter of Eli
Carr and Martha (Patty) White (Quite a story there, I am told) Eli was
the son of John Carr Sr, who was the son of Henry Sr.
2. My Father Everett Jordan to Glen Jordan to Mary Marcella Waybright
to David Huffman (another story) to his mother Mary Bonner, whose mother
was Jemima Carr, daughter of John Carr Sr., who was the son of Henry Sr.
3. My father Everett Jordan to his mother Florna Carr, to Fisher
(Isaac) son of Sylvenus Carr, son of Abner Carr, who was the son of
John Carr Sr. who was the son of Henry Sr.
4. My father Everett Jordan to his mother Florna, to Fisher to his
mother Jane Bonner, daugher of Ann Bonner (and Job Parsons--another
story, but real similar) who was the daughter of Jemima Carr and William
Boner. Jemima was, again, the daughter of John Carr Sr., who was the
son of Henry.
5. My father to his mother Florna to (Fisher Carr's wife) Alice Carr,
who was the daughter of James B. Carr who was the son of Solomon Carr,
who was the son of John Carr Sr, who was ....well, the son of Henry.
Over the years, I too, have collected quite a database of Carr names.
I have tried to enter whatever I find...because in WV they are such
tangled lines that they are very hard to figure sometimes. Obviously
the real interest between us is where Henry came from...So...What do
you have on dear old Henry?
Pat

I am new to the list. My Carrs are Germans who came on the Pennsylvania
Merchant in 1731, stayed briefly in PA and settled along the border of
Virginia and West Virginia in Hardy, Hampshire, Tucker and Randolph
Counties. Is anyone out there looking for them too?
Pat

Anthony Carr, born about 1959, died in 1992 in Denver, CO. See below.
Subj: List of Gay Serial Killings

A list of serial killings that gay rights activists believe are
hate crimes targeting gay men:
. . .
Denver: Four men - James Holman, 36, Benjamin Zesch, 61,
Robert Ferrell, 57, Anthony Carr, 33 - found stabbed to death in
same Denver neighborhood in 1992; each last seen in gay bar.
Activists believe killings linked, but police say victims were
killed with different knives and that witness accounts vary
greatly. . . .

Would like to discuss W.H. (Billy)Carr with someone that knows who his
parents are. The best lead that I have so far is that his dad was Josiah
Carr and his mother was named Mary (what else!) The family history states
that Billy came to Arkansas from Ms after there was a small altercation and
he felt like he would live longer if he left the state. Sooooooooo---he
borrowed a mule and went to Arkansas where he was married three times and
raised a large family in Lincoln County and Drew County Arkansas. I would
like to prove this theory because I can appreciate a man who knows to get
while the getting is good.
Thanks:)
Debbie
