I am looking for info on Susanah Carr who married William Pleasant Tisdale
(b. 1795 SC) before 1826. The Tisdale family was from the northwest SC
area, and later moved to Mississippi.
Any information would be helpful.
Thank you,

It may be that two CARR lines are intermixed here. The RI line and the
Bennington line are listed separately. Anyone provide any light on this? The
Bennington line is usually associated with Bradbury Carr.
The amount of interest in the 17th century lines of George and Caleb Carr
prompted me to perform the following extraction from the Kerr Family
Association database. We cannot vouch for the information because it is
presented as submitted by members and others with an interest in KERR/CARR
genealogy.
If this data does not come thru in its entirety because of length
restrictions, then I have it available on an individual basis. I can provide
it in any of several formats (and you MUST specify or I will NOT send the
file):
1. Word 97
2. Word 3 for Windows
3. Excell 3 for Windows (spreadsheet)
4. Comma delimited text file
5. Tab delimited text file
6. Windows Text-Only file
REQUEST FILE NUMBER CARR456D OR I WILL NOT FIND IT EASY TO LOCATE! PLEASE!
[Note items 3, 4, and 5 can be imported into most spreadsheet and general
database programs (e.g. FoxPro, Paradox, Access, Excell, Lotus).
If you are interested in the Kerr Family Association of North America, then I
have material on the KFA as well.
E-mail the request to me at carrjj(a)aol.com.

Decoding the data: The line number is how we file the line's information, the
Roman numerals are the first in the line as submitted (usually the emigrant).
The dates and place names are self-explanatory, the other names are spouses
names.

By 1810 the CARR could be a recent immigrant. However, there were a huge
number of CARRs in that area. Some of them are descendents of of George, and
others were descendents of his two nephews (emigrated ca 1635). The Arthur A.
Carr book has a large amount of information on these CARRs. They are from
Jamestown, RI, and their homestead is still standing north of the town (1776
building). Check the Philomaenean Library, 26 North Street, Jamestown, RI for
a large amount of material. However, keep in mind that they are a small town
library and could not possibly field a lot of requests. I suggest asking them
if it's possible to hire a local person to copy the materials that they have
on file (which is what I did).
There was a "family history" produced by a chap named Watson for the 1920s
family reunion of the RI family. I have a text file transcript of if anyone
wants a copy. It's fairly long to transmit, so I will wait several days until
I get several requests and then shoot it out to all at once.

I am looking for anyone who may have information on the Carr line I am
researching.
Joseph F. Carr (born around 1810 in Pennsylvania) who married Margaret
Ann Thomas (born 12 Feb 1819 in New York). They were married 3 Jun 1837
in Port Jervis, Orange County, New York.
The family followed their oldest daughter, Susanna Carr, and her
husband, Nathan S. Probasco, to Kansas somewhere between 1855 and 1860.
Nora Probasco

Looking for ancestors of Charles F. CARR, born abt 1860.
Spouse was Mary Elizabeth BARNES, b. abt 1864.
They lived in High Park, MA (at least one child born there)
and moved to Cumberland, RI where they raised other children.
Any help would be appreciated.

Since my husband's CARR is from Mass., born about 1810, I'm interested in any
sources that list Carrs.
I've done very little with this line, so any helpful hints about books, etc.
on the CARRs would be very much appreciated.
All I really have is Francis CARR, born in Mass., according to the NY federal
censuses.

I am a descendant of Ann Carr and Thomas Putnam. I don't have very
much, but here is what I have:
FIRST GENERATION
1. Ann Carr was born in 1661 in Salisbury, MA, USA. She died on Jun 8
1699. Thomas and wife were both active in "The witchcraft dilusion of
1692." Their daughter Ann was one of the "bewitched children".
SECOND GENERATION
2. George Carr. He was married to Elizabeth Oliver.
3. Elizabeth Oliver was born in Salisbury, MA, USA.
This information is from a Geneology that was done by one of my
grandmother's cousins and has no supporting documentation. Here is the
actual text:
Serg. Thomas Putnam, m Ann Carr of Salisbury Nov 25, 1678; d May 24,
1699. She d June 8, 1699. He served in the Narragansett War. Children:
...
Sgt Thomas's wife Ann, b 1661, dau of George Carr and Elizabeth Oliver
of Salisbury, Mass. Thomas and wife were both active in "The witchcraft
dilusion of 1692." Their daughter Ann was one of the "bewitched
children".
Here are some web sites that list Ann Carr:

Hope this helps, and I would be intersted in talking to you further
about this line.

Hello,
I am new to this list and interested to find out if anyone else is
researching the same Carr line. My line is as follows:
1. Anna Carr, b. 1682 probably in Salisbury, MA, married 11 Nov 1702 to
Robert Beadle in Amesbury, MA, and was the daughter of:
2. George Carr, Jr. b. 15 Apr 1644 in Salisbury, married to Anna Cotton,
was the son of:
3. George Carr, Sr. b. 15 Aug 1599 in London, Eng, married to Elizabeth
(possibly Oliver), died 4 Apr 1682 in Salisbury.
George Carr, Sr operated a ferry in the Salisbury area, and according to one
source may have been part of the crew of the Mayflower, but I've been unable
to confirm this. His second wife was reported to be Elizabeth Oliver, but
other sources challenge that assumption. LDS records suggest his father may
have been Sir William Carr, b. 16 May 1542 in London, but I cannot confirm this.
I would very much like to hear from anyone researching this line, and would
be happy to share the information I have.

Subj: Brit Workers Kidnapped in Chechnya
Date: 97-07-05 15:02:02 EDT
From: AOL News
BCC: Pat Noble
.c The Associated Press
GROZNY, Russia (AP) - Two British aid workers have been
kidnapped in Chechnya, the latest in a wave of abductions that have
plagued the southern republic, Russian news agencies reported
Saturday.
John James and Camille Carr, a married couple who work for the
Center for Peacemaking and Development, were taken by masked gunmen
late Thursday or early Friday in the Chechen capital Grozny, the
news agencies said.
Three people have been detained for questioning, including the
couple's two bodyguards and Adnan Adayev, the deputy director of
the aid group, the Interfax news agency said, citing the Chechen
Interior Ministry.
The British Embassy in Moscow said it was investigating.
ITAR-Tass described the group for which the two kidnapped
Britons were working as a small Russian-based organization
employing foreigners.
Despite last year's peace agreement ending the two-year war
between Chechen separatists and Russian forces, Chechen leaders
have been unable to maintain law and order in the mostly Muslim
republic.
Interfax said several dozen people in Chechnya are being held by
kidnappers. Most of the kidnappers are believed to be members of
criminal gangs simply seeking ransom.
Chechen President Aslan Maskhadov has condemned the kidnappings
and issued a degree calling for the death penalty for kidnappers.
Chechen leaders consider their republic independent, but Moscow
still considers the territory part of Russia.

Hi guys and gals,
This is a very long shot. For a match.
Benjamin Barker b Byler Toll Gate Residence, Franklin Co, AL b circa
1835-early1850's or even late 60's
m. Esther CARR either in AL or OK, USA guessing
Benjamin's father and mother are: John BARKER and Susan BYLER they were
married in AL in 1834. One of Benjamin's siblings was born in 1841 there are
besides these two 6 other children of this marriage and I have no idea when
they were born either. This is where my dates start disappearing in
colateral lines and just get worse past or forward in most generations.
Anyway any help would be appreaciated. If not I can certainly understand. I
have several different ideas for trying to find them so anyway.
TIA
