Hello list......
glad to see a little more activity on the Carr-UK list.
My gx3 grandfather Edward Carr was born c.1806 and he was a mining
supervisor in Nova Scotia Canada from 1838 until his death in 1869. From
parents names on his death cert & from the IGI births it is "possible" that
he was from the following family:
Edward Carr b.1779 Stannington NBL, m.Ann Scott (b.1779) Dec, 27, 1801
Stannington. Both died before 1869.
Children:
Robert b.1802 Stannington
Ann b. 1804 Horton-by-blyth
Edward b. 1806
John b. 1809 Stannington
Edward married Elizabeth White Nov.11, 1827 in Houghton-le-Spring DUR. I
have not been able to find early children of this marriage born between 1827
and 1838 although there must have been some (there is a Margaret Jane
baptised in Newcastle 1834 with parents names that match.) (I live in
Western Canada so don't have access to much UK data).
Children born in Canada include:
Francis b.1838
Ann b.1840
John b.1845
Thomas White b.1847
William Fenwick b. 1848 (from whom I descend)
There is family history that suggests Elizabeth White's parents were
Elizabeth Fenwick & William White of Bedlington.
Any help or connections would be appreciated...........
