I am happy you have been able to find most of your line. Accessing
documents these days is so simple with the internet. My early work was
done in dusty old courthouses and traipsing through over grown, snake
infested cemeteries.
I am sorry I don't have any pictures to share. The Carper family is an
allied line of mine which married into other more direct lines. Years
ago when doing research on the PECK family I started adding the
Carper's to my files and just kept it in case I could help someone
else along the way. I am posting this chart of what I have on your
family, most of which you already have. I can go backward on this
family but not forward. I have never met anyone working this line
until you. If you would like a chart for Charles William Carper
contact of off the list and I will be happy to share. He was married
twice and had 19 children.
Maybe when you find time you can tell me the names of the children of
your grandparents John Hayes and Margaret Olive Carper.
Regards,
Karen

I appreciate that. Yes my Grandpa was John Hayes and my grandmother
was Margaret Olive Carper. This has been such a rewarding
experience. Almost all of my information I have found documented
facts. I was able to find a " Descendants of Nicholas Carper " by
Don Norman that was done on our family tree and you are right you
really have to disect if but most has been right on cue so far.
Would you happen to have any pictures. My family tree is the Hayes/
Carper tree. I have not been able to see my relatives on the Hayes
side for about 8 years so I'm doing this family tree for each and
everyone of them to give at a reunion that we may have. I have found
some pictures and will soon go up to my moms to download more. My
father use to work in criminal investigation so it runs in the
blood! Ha! By chance how are you related to the carpers if you don't
mind me asking. I have not had the opportunity to meet any of them
except my Aunt Orva when she lived with my grandma. As it is I'm try!
ing to find a picture of her son that died as a teenager and have
written to one of the libraries who have an old Stonewall Jackson
yearbook, 1954. He would have been a junior. No one seems to have a
picture of Samuel Perry Smallwood III.
