Thanks for the info. I'll stick you in my acknowledgements. I know that Father
Carpentier received several medals for valor under the banner of the 165th.
You're not related to any of the Finns who served with the old 69th in WWI?
My book on the regiment will most likely be out end of this year or early next. It
finishes my trilogy on New York City's National Guard regiments in WWI. The other
books are: "Duty, Honor, Privilege" New York's Silk Stocking Regiment and
the Breaking of the Hindenurg Line" and "Harlem's Hell Fighter: The
African-American 369th Infantry in World War One."
