PLATTSBURGH — Helen M. Carpentier, 91, of Bailey Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at the
CVPH Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 11, 1908 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Robert
and Isabel (Darrah) Baker.
Mrs. Carpentier graduated from Plattsburgh Normal School in 1929 and was a high school
teacher for several years on Long Island before her marriage to Urgel Carpentier. She was
a member of the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh, the CVPH Auxiliary, and a former
member of the Ladies of the Elks.
Survivors include her husband, Urgel, of Plattsburgh, one son, Frederick Carpentier of
Berwyn, Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Joan) Felak of Niskayuna; one
sister, Mildred Baker of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; three grandchildren, and several nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2000 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will take place in the spring in Riverside Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Plattsburgh United Methodist Memorial Fund or a
charity of choice.
