Would it not have been better to send a scanned picture of that section? Or
have posted it on your web page?
This way people who really wanted to help could have done so with out so
many guesses and negatives.
Much of the confusion would also have been avoided.

I may have created confusion in my original
will transcription by capitalizing "Hidges". Actually the "H"
is in small caps. In the will all the names, given and family, are
meticulously capitalized, except "hidges".
I also mistranscribed the amount of her gift from Robert, which
should be twenty shillings.
For odd spellings of names, no better example exists than our own
Alexander Carpenter of Bath in Somerset. The parish register of Bath
records the name as follows:
Ellesander/ Elxannder/Ellexannder
Not once is the name rendered Alexander.
