Dear Carpenter List,
The CE CD 2002 was to compile what was out there into one record for
researchers. This Carpenter CD included the good and not so good. Some
material had very good documentation and others that nothing was given. It
is far from complete.
Did I expect mistakes and errors? Yes. I want people to say, "Hey, that's
not right" and then explain with documentation why. We all benefit from
constructive corrections.
While it was unfortunate that Gene Zubrinsky was off line or not available
when I was asking for input about 792 others helped out. That the section
dealing with his expertise would have been better is no doubt. The next CE
CD will have his input and corrections.
I encourage everyone on the list, and off, to help one another and to share
what they find.
Many of you, especially Phoebe, have sent me hundreds of e-mails off this
List that have been very helpful. Often it is just a small piece of the
puzzle but combined makes a huge difference.
There are dozens who stand out as being helpful and willing to put out a
word of caution or to ask for a clarification. There are several on this
list like John F. Chandler, Bette Butcher Topp, Terry Lee Carpenter and Gene
Zubrinsky who will tell me consistently and honestly how they see what is
presented. Each has their own style and each is appreciated.
I am not the Carpenter List administrator. His style is to contact those
causing problems off the list or if it is minor to allow the List members to
state what they find objectionable. In general I have found this works.
Unfortunately, we loose a few members every time this happens. Who knows if
they may have been the one to help us solve that long sought out question?
Let us all keep sharing and building the Carpenter jigsaw puzzle together.
Why? "For the Carpenter Family" of course!

Subject: [CARPENTER] Thank you
Dear Gene and John,
I am most grateful to both of you. Gene has done us a great service for
his
research and article re. Wm of MA.
I am also grateful to John for bringing us together and collecting so many
Carpenter sources for us to share. (I realize that all of his data was
not
sourced and comfirmed, but he has sure hung in and provided a forum
for
our
communication.)
Phoebe
