May I ask a couple of questions about your Nash County, NC Carpenters. I
think I have found Burwell in Pendleton District, SC. Is he the same one?
Did Reuben go to the Mountains of NC and Tennessee? Did William go to Macon
County, NC? There is a William Carpenter there.
My Carpenters are of German descent (Zimmermann) from the Lincoln County, NC
area. I have found it necessary to trace others to make sure they did not
belong to my family.
Thanks for the help.

Ernest, In answer to your question, I have the children of Thomas and
Mary
Lee Carpenter, who lived in Nash County, NC to be Burwell, John, Reuben,
William, Fanny, Betsy, Polly and James. He died intestate on Aug. 6, 1803
and the list appeared in the Feb Term 1804.
I am sorry I have been so long but I was out of state.

I
believe). Do you know anything about a son of theirs named John F.
Carpenter, who lived in Greenbrier Co., Va. (just west of the Covington,
Va., area) from about 1799 to 1828? I'm having a difficult time connecting
our John F. Carpenter to Thomas Carpenter, but that seems to be where the
road leads. Can you help?
